also this bill is for Skilled legal immigrants only and has nothing to do with the illegal immigrants.
One benefit of passing this bill will also boost the economy as skilled legal immigrants will be in the market to buy new homes (clrealry mentioned in the statement of Greenspan).

Given the constraints of existing legacy case management systems, USCIS would today need to perform a cumbersome, labor intensive, recurring manual audit of all pending files in order to compile the suggested data. Such audits would be cost prohibitive. (page 13)
USCIS has opted not to use its limited financial resources to extract data from current systems and prefers to spend it on prospective systems that are years in the planning. For example, USCIS has not made corrections to the CLAIMS 3 system to capture data on applicants’ priority date information, country of nationality, and the preference category under which the application is filed that USCIS must review before the application is accepted for green card processing. What was really pathetic - dependents of L1 visa holders were allowed to work, whereas dependents of H1 visas - the H4s, were not!
All they're left to do - if they don't qualify or have any interest in a high-tech field - is to listen to frustrations of their H1-holder spouses about this whole immigration mess!

I totally agree with Arunmohan- We H4's are not considered basic human beings here, we are not allowed to work ,may of us experience difficulty in getting a drivers license, we cannot have an independent bank account- literally we are considered as without life. I do wish I came in here illegally, at least i see hope for illegals in these bills - what do H4 Visa holders have to wait for !!!

The baseline of my conversation goes as: there is limited funding, limited opportunities even for US born scientists, then is it wise to "import on permanent basis" scientists from abroad?Yes, it is good to have the best here, but what we (USA) require is education and training of US-born first ...
Take home message for us guys is this: These are the people the congress hears out first when they want to make policy changes. These are the people who were able to convince NIH to double its funding in 5 years time a couple of years back. These are the people who are now saying that there is no job and money for US-born, so first get more fundingand training for us citizens, before you get foreigners to carry out research ...
It is obvious that the issue is becoming more and more acrimonious, entangled with a lot of other issues - both political and economic. Unless the retrogressed are willing to take this to heart and put up an intense effort, in coming years the matter is going to get worse. Next few months could be the only ***healthy*** window of time to achieve a remedy for retrogression. are you sure one can fund an NRE account in Rs?
i've had an NRE account and the only way to put money is in $. you can then withdraw the money in $ or Rs, but i haven't heard of being able to fund it with Rs to start with.
i believe that students can also bring a much bigger chunk nowadays, maybe try that track.
also, if the $100K can be brought to the US each yr, why can't parents send it here as a gift, what is the deal with 30%, does someone know?

140 approved, 485 pending for more than 180 days, EAD/AP approved, and in hand.
Candidate leaves sponsoring employer and joins another employer (similar position/salary, etc.) New employer's attorneys send the AC21 letter and G-28 forms to the USCIS. The attorneys are very familiar with this, have handled lots of AC21 cases (Fragomen).
Is there any way the candidate can call USCIS customer service and ask for the attorney/representative's name on file, just to make sure that the G28 did get processed and the attorney name on file got changed from the old law firm to the new one? Would customer service share that information with the candidate?

When in your prime you have given all you got for 5-8 years who cares about you after that, not the employers not the system.
It is all part of the plan. When u are on H1, you have to be 200% productive. That benefits the economy. All and sundry here know the game. So they like you to be the way you are for a long long time.
Contribute to Social security with no benefits, pay taxes, buy cars
etc and boost the economy.
After 5-8 years if you still have the energy left to wait, then sure, you stand a chance after perhaps everyone else gets a GC.

Use a competent attorney. Do not try to handle this yourself. I am sure that you have heard of "you get what you pay for"...
BTW, are you one of those cases with a 3 year degree + Experience, working in IT? If yes, the I can see why your I-140 was rejected. Lot of people have had this issue, but I do not know how many have successfully been able to resolve it.
