India was demanding latest fighter jets (F-22) but US can offer only old version F-16,F-18 to India. Basic reason for US denial to latest technology because of India -US relation and their status .US only offers new technology to its close allys. I think it was prudent move from India’s part to get latest and greatest technology. To get these new technologies US congress needs to pass law and define India as close ally.

I am a nurse so we better flood the job market; don't you think so?
Now how does that makes me an anti-immigrant :mad: :mad: :mad: . I am ofcourse happy that so many of my friends here are going one step further in getting GC. Something is better than nothing. But, suddenly more than 1/2 mill people getting EAD will have some effect on the market. People(on H1B) loosing jobs after 3-4 months may find themselves in a difficult situation to get a job.
I am on H1B myself, how can I ever be an anti-immigrant ?:) :) I was expecting a little bit more permamnent solution and not a band-aid solution as somebody pointed out.

This is a very valid point. If employer or his lawyer asks more money in fees for filing I485 it is always better to go thro employer if he files I485 promptly. But if the delay is intention of the employer then use your own Lawyer.

TAKE ALL DOCUMENTS FROM EMPLOYER AND GIVE TO LAWYER. U MAINTAIN UPPER HAND WITH LAWYER.
485 RFE IS COMMON FOR EMPLOYER- LAWYER COMBO OF DESI COMPANIES.
Lawyer needs money and employer needs prolongation.
With rules changing and with CIR reintroduction and with Durbin Grassley amendments - Desi companies will be having tough business in future - they will try to retain consultants in whatever way possible. So beware. These people are sweet in their talk - but they do everything opposite to what they talk.
This maybe applicable to non desi companies also - this dates becoming current is an acid test for employer's genuinity.
So be cautious - watchful and get things done in smart way. 180 days down the lane the story is different.

You can bring UP TO 4 spouses on H4 visa. That's why it is called H4. Similarly on F2, you can only bring 2 spouses, Ah...students do not make that kind of money to support more than 2 spouses. USCIS thinks so much about us.

We have been calling and talking to ppl all over new england area.
But we have hardly been able to get a convincing number of ppl to attend the rally.
Have you watched the bus thread for New England Area. 26 votes, can you believe that.
We definitely need to get more innovative. I dont know what ppl want, so they can be motivated.
Sometimes i think being educated is a curse, as ppl become more scared and are fine adapting to the system.
Look at the ILLEGALS at least they came out openly. They dared to come forward and i am sure they will be rewarded sooner.
LEGAL ppl who have nothing to fear are then also they are more scared to do anything. So this is the right time for me to express my opinion LEGALS ARE FOOLS.
Please dont be mad at me, i am just frustuated with ppl responses, but one thing for sure, i will keep on motivating ppl in whichever way i can do.

1. Would you be happy if I say it is not legal for consulate to ask for such documentation?
2. Do you want me to call them names?
3. Would it be better for me to state that they are racially motivated and discriminating against Indians?
4. They should cancel all documentation requirements?
Anyways....I earn 64k per year and I want to take benefit of the mortagage crisis and buy a 900k home. I want the banks to continue with their past practice of providing cheap loans with no down-payment and not a lot of documentation. Would that be a valid demand?
Fellow legal immigrant..what do you think would be result of ICE raids which finds some fraud (I said some not to indicate that it happens in majority cases...it could be less than 1% of all the genuine cases). As software engineers what do we do when we find defects during testing or post production stage? Do we fix it or we try allow it continue?

Final Q, how long it took from day1 of EB2 filing to filing I140 this week ?
My PERM was filed on 30th March, approved on Aug 11th, received approval copy on 18th Aug, and I-140 to be filed this week.
There was a lot of prep work involved before filing PERM in March. My employer agreed to start the process in Oct'09 and the lawyers started the ads in early Jan.

Don't take it otherwise... I will NOT do anything against anybody.
That previous person (whose name was mentioned on this approved labor) already had left this employer in 2004...so there is no one getting hurt if this employer is offering me that labor.
- My question still remains : Is it necessary to go for labor substitution to use this approved labor (showing the name of old consultant)... OR ... Can it be possible to file I-140 straight with my profile against this labor....?
