I'm also suffering like you for years but doing a RE-FILE just for managing bad odds is not reasonable. If they reject your application - You should be able to resend it from FEDEX/USPS signature and receipt Notice even after Aug 17th.
I'm not a lawyer and i've nothing against Rajaiv Khanna but on a general i'm advising you that " Any lawyer wants their clients case get complicated and convoluted". By doing this you/we are just complicating our case and offering "Money making" potential to already Rich , Wealthy ,Cut throat Lawyers.

Since the H-1 will be cancelled by the previous employer, the answer is No.

Sorry - for some reason the post showed up as new on my PC and I did not notice the date. This is evaluation advice and certainly not an ad. It is important that everyone understand what they need as many attorneys make mistakes. It was free advice. That is my only reason to be here. I'm done. I posted whatever I had on WhiteHouse.gov and wrote to my Senator. I think the strength is in numbers - so the effectiveness of this depends on the number of people that write in - Even if people dont include their personal stories, just the fact that you will include your address when you write to your senator makes it personal. Just my 2 cents!!!

You're absolutely right. Ever since last year's H1-b lottery, I look at this country in a new light. I no longer see this U.S. as the world's greatest country, I suspect this is a civilization in decline. This H-1b and GC mess to me is an indicator of how things are run in this country. With all these major problems: immigration, healthcare -- there's just an attempt to sweep problems quietly under the rug or apply band-aid fixes such as a lottery.
Thousands of advanced degree holders are being kicked out of the country and a million people are stuck in a GC mess -- no one cares, it's no-one's business. The human being is like a tiny and replacable cog in the system.
Of maybe ~500 highly influential people in Washington DC (congressmen + senators + president + DHS high officials) maybe 3-4 people are expressing outrage at the EB GC and H1B mess. Zoe Lofgren is one, maybe a few others. The rest think the system is just fine.

I think they might have thought that Grassley is like our Indian MPs and why should reply to him. They should have answered responsibly and tried to do some good faith efforts. Now it is paying time for their arrogance. Still Indian companies and Bodyshoppers are having time to change themselves. We need to wait and see whether they will change and forced to change.

Note that after marriage, the GC for spouse needs to be filed under FB category which has a backlog of 4-5 years

H1, L1 are dual intent visas. Pending I130 does not affect L1 or H1 visa approval since these visas are dual intent. This is usually the safest option.
Follow to join (Consular processing) helps if you were married before the 485 approval.

Kinkos is horrible!!! I went there this morning and had to wait 40 minutes for my photos and when they came back they had a greenish tint and the colors were all washed out. They looked like a two year old photoshoped them :D Clearly they would have been rejected by immigration so I asked for my money back.
I then went to Sears and they did a great job. They have professional studio equipment and all it took was 5 minutes and I had all my copies looking great like they're supposed to.
So... Sears, highly recommended. They charged me $61 for two sets of 8 photos for me and my wife which is the same price as Kinkos or CVS & Walgreens, less the horrible amateurish quality.

If Republicans control the House, they will be too bitter because they can't repeal the Health Care Reform, and will not let CIR pass in 2011. Best hope is 2012 now. Obama could have easily passed CIR in past 2 years, instead he focused all his efforts on health care..

FYI All the Hawla, Bofors, Fodder scams, 2G scam did not even occur from the mentioned one state alone !
The state has / had best IIT coaching facilities ( you call it a manufacturing shop, I don't care). Which produced lot of good engineers, who genuine have completed their education in this country and added value here.
It is unfortunate that some people knew what they were doing and others were frustrated with long wait (esp H4's who have been waiting for ever in the retrogression even though their spouses had approved 140's for years) and were told to pursue a shady option saying it was legal by scrupulous body shops wanting to make money. A spouse from no other country other than India and China has to wait this long to EAD, even all the spouses of substitute labor are working on EAD's.
Dont make a blanket statement about corruption, every region has its problems. Even in this country money from recovered from freezers of politicians. Corrupt & Dishonest people exist every place.

Seems like everyone losing hope including core - as someone else said above its really sad to see this. Please dont lose hope at this critical moment else all of our efforts for last two years will go waste.
I cant imagine how much time/effort has been put into this effort by core members (as a relatively inactive member I myself could have easily spent several hundred hours on these forums in last year and half; and atleast some time in calling/faxing etc.). After all these efforts and seeing the current bill its understandable to get deeply disappointed. But dont lose hope yet. Its not over.

All of us were also thinking that we are in a better position to introduce and enact amendments in this congress. We still have time (2 weeks) for amendments - why are we thinking about alternate arrangements and slowly losing hope. Does this show our level of confidence now or this thread is meant for some light hearted fun?

He has been there either on Mon-Tue or Thu-Fri 2 times each month doing meetings in Senate offices and educating and finding sponsors. We are not going to give up now after all that hard work just because the bill is ridiculous.
Just because I am taunting the injustice of the bill doesnt mean that I or others have given up. WE ARE in position to put in amendments. How much, I dont know. But pretty sure that we will make a good amount of difference.
But dont let your hopes down because of a sarcastic comment on the bill. Take it as a joke or ignore it.

I applied on May18 for I-140 and will be applying to I485 soon.. and would get EAD...so what happens to EAD and AP...I cant beleive they are
waste..Probabaly people with pending I-140 will be subject to the new systems..??..what do you guys think??..Its not pratical to drive people down the Queue again..
