These morons never learn lessons. He is insulting him self by bitching about it....the Officers are just doing their job to verify their system... Can you imagine that a foreigner coming to India might have to go through ordeal if Indian Official suspects that he is a terrorist just because his records show....He should not forget that US has such system to verify and let him go.... where is SRK and others showing some passion when similar thing happen to President Abul Kalam? where is SRK and others showing some passion when bombings happened and innocent people get killed time and time again in India. Did he called for such system in India??? Where is SRK and others showing some passion that we need to improve Education System so that we can be proud of as Indians again? These guys thinks every thing for me nothing for others. Yeah, I guess our community (legal immigrants) is satisfied with the magic number 3,200. Be is montly contribution ($3.2K), or yearly visa availablity (EB2I).
I agree with you sledge_hammer. We have to do something about this. The easiest and most convenient thing that we can all start with is to support IV; how can IV fight for us with mere $3,200 a month? Folks, please wake up and smell the coffee; please contribute for your own cause.

I do not think it would be 10,000 primary. Probably around 3000 ~ 5000 primary applications. But if you consider dependents yes we may be talking about nearly 10,000 EB2I visas.

There should be a cap on number of employees of a particular nationality in an organization. There should be a separate line for different nationalities in supermarkets. Fair? Happy?

What about Hindi guys are kicked out in asam and Mumbai. Malasiya, Singapore and SL have tamil population and thats why the noise is.

I felt very bad and compleately moved when I was read about Mehul at that time. He was not able to get the GC in time just because he was born in India, even though he is from Fiji. During the last days of his life he was more worried about his family settlement, than his death, and moved them to sweeden. I hope this kind of sitution wont repeat to any immigrant.

For things like this not to repeat, we need a legilation change so that it doesnt matter which country you are from and which EB category you are in, and make sure that there wont be years long back logs.

Labor substitution in my opinion is less that 1% of cases for some one jumping the line. The main problem is lack of visa numbers and processing delays. We are discussing a topic which will have little affect if any on our own GC process. It is a drop in the ocean to say the least.
I support its elimination because of the fraud that takes place. In the past I have got a pm on another immigration web site asking if I knew anyone who could "sell" them an approved labor!

If you have seen any companies misuse the H1 and L1 visa, you can complain about them. Dont go screaming around that the whole H1 and L1 program is bad. Its because of people like you that a whole group gets a bad name due to some rotten apples. Btw, all your arguments dont seem to help the IV community. I've met couple of guys who came on L1 and have filed GC in EB1. they are simply project managers and exploited this loop hole... I'd raised this issue earlier but was scoffed stating that I would have done the same if I would have been at their place...Felt like slapping the guy who made this stupid comment.
Given that we have played by the rules, lets prevent any kind of fraud to make sure that there is FIFO.....

POE experience is rotting with time, most Indians with H1B don't walk that alley anymore fearing deportation and there is more to come with this attitude.

There were many compelling reasons for recapture bill on 1999-2000. Top 3 reasons were
1. Demand was very high and in some areas only less than 2 persons were available for 4 positions.
2. Outsourcing was very low. There is no other way than importing foreigners. Now even if demand increases many positions are going for outsourcing.
3.There were no AC21. So many people started leaving country after completion of 6 years H1b causing huge problems to companies and country.Companies could get recapture and AC21. Now atleast 80% of the H1b persons are willing to stay even 15 years without green card using ac21.
Now only green card aspirants are suffering due to deley in green card not the companies or country. But country and companies are using the H1b persons by just showing green card carrot but actually not giving it.

As said before by unseenguy, your case is just plain LUCK, if there was no bill during 1999-2000 to recapture and increase GC quota, you would have been still struck in BEC counting days for GC,forget Citizenship. Just because you are over qualified(or under!) than others does not make you special or get you GC faster, you just had some good KARMA, thats it...
Anyways, your attitude of blaming others(h1/l1 etc.) for decrease in your quality of life is just plain STUPID and shows your maturity.
I wish you are not in a managerial position, I have seen many Desi managers like you who give hard time to fellow Desi folks working under them thinking they rule the world and they are the only qualified one who knows all.
My advice is wish good for others not bad, this will get you more good karma and maybe get your citizenship faster.. :-)
