Despite all my attempts, nothing happened at NSC. The last resort, Local Congressman helped. The staff did an excellent job, resolved the issue in a matter of hours. Not only my EAD was approved right away, they also arranged a Letter indicating that my case was approved, so that I can present it to my HR.
Before I called the congressman's office, I did have very little or no hope, as I went thru many things. This is a very happy ending.

I have already put in the expedite request with Texas, but haven't heard since then, whether its approved or not. Please suggest what should I do?

I couldn't really find any information about the appeal process on the LC once it is denied. the ironic thing is that my first LC was approved then after I got promoted to a senior position and applied for a second LC, the 2nd LC was denied because they think there is no difference between the 1st and 2nd position. does the DOL have an automatic system that processes the LC and that why it coudn't see the difference between the 2 positions??

Thats great ! These kids must have sure worked hard on this...just congratulate them on having a goal and achieving it .
As for the competition been silly, you can say this about many events starting from Golf.
What about 100 mts running in olympics..specially in this day and age of cars and bikes, what is the need to run so fast..

Can somebody pls confirm that we can get 3 yr H1 extensions if we file our 485 applications and also any source if you can.
Do not mind but I think this would be a critical ice breaker for lot us to make a decision of to file or not to file
I think as per my discussion with lawyer to get 3 year extension you need I-140 approval.

How can you judge God's intentions when you don't know Him? Can you prove that God does not exist?
a 20 year old girl had injuries because of acid attack on her and she was in hospital praying god to save her life.But she died finally(http://www.hindu.com/2009/01/01/stories/2009010150460100.htm).
If god exists , he/she should listen the prayers and save people.
This is just one example.There are millions of incidents which proves that GOD doesn't exist.
It's just out belief that GOD will do some good for us.

We are being squeezed all along the way... Did you notice I140 retrogression? Think about those who got stuck at labor, then 140, then I485, then name check...
Did you hear that they were trying to eliminate AC21? So what's the benefit of filing I485 considering all the backlogs? Without AC21, you still have to start all over again should you lose your job.
Pure stupidity on those bueracrats!
Some employers are having merry time. "Dedicated" employees working for N number of years without any major promotion ( also i have seen employers in dilemma because cannot promote employee to a mangerial position ).

Most people has very misconception about "parole". It is not a free/flexible travel document like visa. As a AOS applicant, one should not leave US till it is approved/denied. One MUST present in US during AOS. The parole is only for any emergency purpose; which is similar to prisioners. As USCIS is flexible, in approving the AP, the people don't realize the travel limitation of AP. They are travelling on AP for vatation/fun etc.. As per law, the AP is not intended for it. The CBP officer was right in asking the legitimacy of the travel. The AP document clearly says it is based on "humanitation" admission to retrun after an emergency travel.
That's correct, but what is one suppose to do when it takes years to get a green card. As someone mentioned earlier, the reality does not match the intent for the law.

Ron Gotcher said something similar... they may be trying not take any more
applications from 2000-2009 until they finish the backlog. That may be one of the
reasons why they may have retrogressed to 2000. Just my 2 cents.

Does anyone know whether hard copy of Labor approval is required for filing Form 1-140. My Labor status shows certified, but my lawyer is conveying that they have not received my hard copy of approval to process Form I-140 and 485. Can some one tell me if we can take a print out of Labor approval from online status and use it for filing 140.

I just wanted to get this discussion back on track of ppl wanting to be able rise up a little, let their wives work and feel the freedom to make a decision to go back.
Let me restart the discussion. I know we are all frustrated to the extent that we want to pack up and leave but we have invested too much time to do that. But let's assume things start moving and we get our GC's in a year or so. Having spent so many years waiting to "settle" would you be willing to unsettle your life again and start over in a country that you left more than a decade ago.
Note that I am not doubting anyone's intention or disrespecting any entry. Just wondering if its the frustation talking or there are ppl who would actually leave?

I just used bank billpay to send in a small contribution.. I will continue my support once the expenditure schedule is viewable by volunteers. The bank deducts the amount right away but I don't think they indicate whether the payee have actually cashed the check by the payment date. So could someone issue a receipt via email or forum private message? I included my forum id on the billpay. Thanks guys.

Fill out the G-639 form and take it to a notary. Have him notarize the document when you sign it in his presence. Worked for me.

It is a competition, Indian kids are winning. This is not ultimate thing in life. Still last night it was highly viewed, coveted title and winning it is not a small achievement. I would say just be happy for them.
I am happy for the girl and their family. I wish her best of luck and hope she would become BEST neurosurgeon in USA.
